Victoria's Secret Show | Talking All Things Model & Couture Fashion
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
Outfits & Models
The annual Victoria's Secret Show is not only the highlight of the fashion industries year, but also the highlight of mine ♥. To use the word 'obsessed' doesn't even cover what I am in regards to Victoria's Secret. I have seen every single show at least 10 times and can tell you which model, outfit & artisan contributed to each year as well as exactly what time in the show each segment transpired. It's safe to say i'm a fanatic!!!! However, as a true lover of fashion, I appreciate the show on such a deep level as I know how much money, craftsmanship and organisational skills goes into just a show that runs for only one hour. The show has developed and materialised immensely over the past decade and has rapidly established itself as the biggest fashion show in the world. It is rumoured that each years show individually costs 12 million dollars and increases the exposure and net worth of the brand every single year. Of course this show would be nothing without the amazing couture outfits and the models themselves who wear them! What I personally love the most about the show is the way they include work from lesser known artisans from all around the world who create the most incredible bedazzled bodysuits, angelic wings & gracefully flowing capes. This is creativity beyond imagination & every single year i'm astounded by the detail and craftsmanship which goes into each and every piece - Some of them are also fit perfectly to scale for the specific model (this year is also the first time they're using 3D Printing Technology!). Some of the artisans working on the pieces from the show for this year are Brian Atwood, Serkan Couture & unique painter Jeff Fender. My personal favourite for the 2017 show is the collaboration between the Victoria's Secret brand and designer Balmain. Olivier Rousteing is the creative director of the couture brand Balmain & every year astounds the public with his incredible designs. I cannot wait to see the partnership with Victoria's Secret and what blossoms into creation from their joint venture.
⧪Below is some of the amazing work that past artisans have displayed in previous
VS fashion shows⧪
The brand has somewhat made these models larger than life - treating them like movie stars & literally generating their fame. Each model is a star in their own right & have worked their entire adult (and teen) life to get to where they are today, so there is really no doubt that they deserve it; but Victoria's Secret enhance their exposure and from this one show they are able to sign deals bigger than they ever dreamed with designers such as Versace, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana & Gucci.
These models literally work all year round to maintain an inhuman lingerie model body. This is because they need to be in shape not only for the annual show, but for the shoots they do throughout the entire year. From Victoria's Secret Sport campaigns to the notorious Holiday commercial which airs around Christmas time - they need to be in working shape! Some of my favourite models who give me the most motivation to hit the gym and live a healthy lifestyle are Josephine Skriver, Adriana Lima, Romee Strijd & Miranda Kerr. What I love about these angels (and one ex angel AKA: Miranda) is that they are public advocates for regular exercise & a clean diet; they post numerous workouts, recipes and fitness photos which can be great motivation for your next health kick!
Below are some helpful recipes the girls have shared in past interviews⇲

- 2 tablespoons of oatmeal or oats crushed into a flour (I found I needed more oatmeal than this recipe calls for)

Some main types of workouts & movements the Victoria's Secret Angels do consist of:

All of the girls have admitted in interviews that they've tailored specific workout to themselves because their bodies respond better to that type of exercise. For example - Josephine Skirver & Jasmine Tookes have stated that HIIT training & heavy weighted exercises work better for their specific body type as they feel leaner and stronger when they do this. Other girls like Miranda Kerr & Candice Swanepoel have claimed that low intensity exercise like Pilates, yoga, ballet and jogging help them stay lean and fit whilst keeping to a strict nutritional plan. Lastly, there is boxing, skipping and high intensity spin/cycle classes which have been the choice of workouts for veteran angels Adriana Lima and Lily Aldridge; Adriana especially has the most incredible body and works her ass off every single day int he boxing ring!
