Favourite Trends I Hope Don't Disappear 2018/2019

Trending alert:

 Please don't go anywhere!

I'm going to start this blog by saying that I am aware that some of these trends started in 2016/2017, however, I feel that they have been their most popular in 2018 & the beginning of 2019.

Like all trends, they come and go so quickly before we are all onto the next one! If you are a bit of a trend follower like me then you've probably seen the below being show cased on the streets by celebrities. I really am skeptical of most trends and it takes a lot for me to buy into them - The trends below are some that I believe will last a few more years, and honestly, they're statement pieces that I feel never go out of fashion.

I always try to make a conscious decision into whether I think a trend or 'statement piece' is worth investing in; by this I simply mean, spending hundreds of dollars on. The trends I've listed in this blog are trends that I chose to invest a decent amount of my paycheck into as I plan to wear them for quite a few years.

Obviously though, some of these you don't even have to outlay a great deal to get a decent product, you just have to be a smart shopper ☺️

Over sized collared T-Shirt with mom jeans

This look is so simple and versatile - It's masculine yet feminine all at the same time, all you have to do is tuck the large shirt into the pants and you can show off your assets making the outfit a little more sexier. As you can also see with the looks below, this outfit can be paired with so many different accessories and coats in the winter, or left plain in the summer like Candice.

I bought a pair of Urban Outfitter mom jeans from Myers in Australia for about 90$ on sale. As for baggy T-shirts, Target or H&M has a great collection, also Cotton On!

Overalls

Overalls are a trend that I swear to god never actually goes out of style. I bought a pair from Zara in Australia about 3 years ago and I wear them at least three times a week! Overalls are cute, comfy and effortless - style them with a bodysuit & loafers/sandals and you have the perfect chic Sunday outfit. Vice Versa, you can also dress them up with heels and wear them so a special event; if you are going to do this I would recommend finding tighter overalls and also putting effort into your hair and makeup - this will dress up the look as baggier overalls just look too relaxed no matter what.

Blazers with bralettes, corsets or slips underneath

This is certainly a trend that I never thought I would get into, however, I really must say that I love it! It's very French girl meets modern British - I love the simplicity & masculinity of a blazer compared to the sheerness of the lace or silk. In my opinion, Rosie pulls this look off so well and the way she is wearing this outfit is the way I would too!

Leather look tights with loafers or boots (My favorite!)

I'm absolutely obsessed with this look! I love the sleekness of leather look tights (or actual leather tights), they can elongate your legs and make them look slimmer. I opted for a pair of Bardot high wasted leather pants and usually wear them with leather boots; let's face it, I need all the help I can get for making my legs longer! They cost me about 80$ on sale (down from about 170$).

I also love wearing leather loafers with them - I must say though, I always feel very dressed up when wearing them and haven't quite found a good way to dress them down. The only thing I can think of is an over-sized collared shirt with
some black sandals.

White T-shirts underneath dresses and jumpsuits

This trend is super cute and it always reminds my of how my mother would dress me when I was 5 years old! In saying that, there are ways you can dress this up to look a little more womanly.
For example, Kendall has opted for a bralette over her white T with jeans and heels - I love this so much and have rarely seen it done since. My favourite pairing though is the silk slip dress with a white T underneath - The silk dress is perfect by itself for a sexy look on a summers night at the clubs, however, if you want to wear your slip dress on a Sunday to brunch, adding the white T and sandals or flat boots is a perfect dressed down look for this occasion!

I have a plain white T that I purchased from Zara for about 8$ and a slip dress that I bought from H&M - Honestly though, any strappy dress I own I usually wear my T under especially when I go to work!
